  • Go to the ‘Settings/ and choose ‘Messages’ and turn off ‘iMessage’. 
  • Restart your phone. You can do that by pressing and holding the on/off button.   
  • Go to the ‘Settings’ and choose ‘Phone’. Go to ‘My Number’ and check if it is correct! 
  • In case it is not correct, enter the correct phone number.  
  • Now, turn on iMessage. You can do it by selecting ‘Settings’ and ‘Message’.  
  • Go to the option of ‘Send and Receive’ and check if the right number is being displayed.  

If the number is right, you can start sending iMessages.  

2- Steps to Fix it on an Android 

If you have the issue of the wrong number showing on text messages on an Android phone, here’s what you have to do-  

  • Go to the ‘Settings’.  
  • Tap on ‘Messages’. 
  • Choose ‘More options’ and go to the ‘Settings’. 
  • Select ‘Chat Features’.  
  • Turn off the ‘Chat Enable’ feature.  
  • Wait for 15 minutes.  
  • Restart your phone.  
  • Turn on ‘Chat Features’ and get started!
